The Youth Angel Scholars Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization specializing in a holistic approach to mentoring through age-appropriate activities connecting youth and adults to healthier lifestyles, academic excellence, civic service, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

In 2004, the Youth Angel Scholarship Fund was created in memory of a stillborn child. The parents desired to create a legacy in her honor by supporting local teens. They used proceeds from their growing small tutoring business to help students attend college tours and youth symposiums throughout Greater Philadelphia.
In 2010, the organization expanded the scholarship fund into a nonprofit organization separate. A small group of educators were invited to start the organization we affectionately known today as “YAS.”
Youth Angel Scholars originally specialized in “transforming” teens ages 13-18 through an intensive yearlong mentoring program held on Saturdays at Temple University’s Center City Campus.
From 2010-2016 high school graduates from the YAS program are Gates Millennium Scholars, college graduates, and entrepreneurs.
In 2016, the organization “transformed” to no longer keep the program exclusive to teens. The YAS program relocated to offer an inclusive range of services to reach the whole scholar furthering their mentor goals to a new generation of younger children and adult.
